International Rescue Committee Annual Report was a project I did for one of my classes
in a Sophomore year at Portland State University. In this project I was challenged to create
a multipage document that would effectively deliver its message, as well as keep cohesiveness
in terms of the layout, typography, and imaginary.
IRC Annual Report highlights the Committee' collaborative work with the Sesame street in supporting refugees from different countries. As the report's topic is far from entertaining,
but rather has an informative purpose, I decided to keep the overall style of the report minimal, strict, and serious. For body text I used Univers typeface due to its high readability and simple design. Images are also kept in black and white to make them blend into the minimalistic style. However, bright shades of blue, orange and yellow allowed for highlighting titles and quotes which indeed stand out and draw attention on the mostly black and white pages. Clarendon
type family supports the colors in making accents due to its uneven stroke weight and serifs.
